With only wages and two articles open for negotiation, the CFPBA was pleased to once again work with the City of Holly Hill to ratify the final year of its three-year contract in July. “The membership was very cooperative and worked closely with the city to reach a fair outcome,” said Mike Scudiero, who represented the bargaining team of Sgt. Jeff Miller, Officer Misti Howey and Detective Mike Schaeffer.
The re-openers agreed to pave the way for new hires to be brought on to fill existing vacancies due to changes made in the pension plan for future officers. In exchange for that, the bargaining team was able to negotiate a $1,200 lump sum, payable in November of this year and recurring 40-hour vacation cash out each December.
“These changes reflect the positive dialogue with the city and the fair exchange of proposals that went back and forth between each side. The men and women of the Holly Hill police department will see a little extra cash in their pockets and have helped the city to afford new hires for the streets,” concluded Scudiero.
The City Commission ratified the agreement on July 26th after the membership voted to do so on July 7th & 8th
